1994 Ford Ranger Questions

Hi im new to this forum my name is Martin, i have a question about ford ranger, i have an opportunity to buy a 1994 Ford Ranger 5 speed, 4x4 supercab, i dont know anything about these trucks, any common problems to watch out for, anything to check? it has quite a bit of mileage, sitting at 154,486 MILES (248,000 KMS) just wondering if this mileage should scare me or not? any useful information would be very great, thanks guys.

Re: 1994 Ford Ranger Questions

Rangers are pretty trouble free and one of Fords most reliable models, at least IMHO. You will like the supercab, plenty of room to pack stuff or stretch the legs in you are over 6 feet tall like me. The V6 is a better choice for hauling and general power than the 4 cylinder.

Re: 1994 Ford Ranger Questions

The thing about this model year is the back seats are very small and fold down from the side behind the pass.and drivers seats. Your child would be facing the passenger side of the truck if she were to be in the seat behind the driver. The 94 did not have the 3 door option.

Re: 1994 Ford Ranger Questions

Hi:
I'm from Puerto Rico
Does anybody knows about how to repair the driver window. Someone said to me once that the window motor has some plastic mini-parts that has to be replace because when you use too much the control this plastic parts suffer damage and it wears away and the window don't come down or up.

Thanks for the advise

Re: 1994 Ford Ranger Questions

You are speaking of the window regulator. If you remove the door panel you will see the regulator and the motor. The motor has a plastic drive gear so you will probably need to replace it as well. The original regulator is riveted and the new one may have rivets as well but you can use sheet metal screws to replace the rivets. I hope this helps you out! Good luck!
