1997 Ford Ranger - Strange Check Engine Light Problem
In December I purchased a 1997 Ford Ranger (from a non-Ford dealer) and am now having a problem with a non-functioning check engine light. I already pulled the instrument pack and pulled and tested the bulb, cleaned the contacts and replaced the bulb with no effect. I've checked all fuses in the fuse block, but found none blown. Is there something that a previous owner might have tampered with? I need to get this working again to pass inspection. All other emissions systems passed, but for lack of a light, I can't get an inspection sticker. Any ideas?
P.S. - The code from the inspection center was for a non-functioning warning light, there were no other codes, just some service bulletin listings.
