A squeal comes from the engine but only when it rains.

It is not a belt slipping. That noise is a bit different.

I have no clue.

Does the squeal go away after a certain period of time? Does the squeal happen when you drive into a rain storm or just periodically while you drive in the rain or start the vehicle in the rain?

Keep in mind that sometimes when a belt slips, it might not make any noise. I had an older GM C2500 cargo van that I had set on cruise along the highway when out of no where the belt came right off as the bearings on the idler pulley failed. It made no noise other than the increase in engine speed due to the cruise control.

Take for instance: It rained here for 4 straight days. Every drive back and forth to work the noise was continuous.

Today, sunny skies and it is still going. Usually after a few dry days it stops.

So you're saying that the belt may be slipping but a noise is made when it is raining?
