door ajar lite comes on and off for no reason. and the battery lite stays on. checked alternator and battery is new.

Does the dome light come on when the door ajar light comes on? If it does, the door switch is on its way out, or is sticking. The unfortunate thing is that this switch is mounted on the door latch assembly. The door latch assembly must be removed to replace the switch. Before you do, first try spraying the latch with Marvel Mystery Oil or some other good quality penetrating oil. Give it a real good soaking down, wait a few minutes to give the oil a chance to work, then open and closed the doors a few times. It happens often on my 99, and its usually the drivers door. Don't use WD-40 as it tends to make them stick more after the oil dries.
