I have a 1998 Ford Ranger with a 3.0 stick. Truck will start but dies within a few seconds. This truck does not have a PATS system. It will continue to run as long as I keep spraying carb cleaner into the throat of the throttle body. Fuel pressure is at 60 PSI, book calls for 53 to 72. Noid light on two accessible injectors shows power and blinks when cranking. Checked fuel pressure with key on engine off, again 60psi and when I fire an injector with a test box the pressure drops as it fires. No ECM codes.

Are there any major vacuum leaks? EGR stuck open?

No vac leaks. Runs great on carb cleaner sprayed into throttle body.

If there's a fuel filter - change it out and see if that helps. It's a fairly cheap fix; similar in cost to 4-6 cans of carb cleaner.
