Truck was running fine, then just quit running in the middle of the street. Seems to want to start, after sitting for a few minutes will even fire but then immediately dies again. Where should I start checking?

Have the battery tested first.

So the vehicle does start and immediately dies?, or does not start at all? Check for spark, check plugs, check for fuel, check fuel pressure. When was the last fuel filter change? Narrow it down to spark, or fuel problem. Let us know what you find, and we can guide you from there

Battery good. Good spark. Plugs look good. 1/2 tank of gas. Replaced fuel filter.

Tracked down a fuel pressure test gauge I could borrow. Book says 56 to 70psi - getting 9 - 10psi. Guess I'll be pulling the fuel pump.

It sound to me like its in the fuel system. I would first start basic and check the inline fuel filter (could be clogged) then work your way from there through out the rest of the fuel system.

i had the same problem, it was a "fuel pump relay", located on the passenger side inner fender well

I think you have a fuel pump reset in the foot well on the passenger side, it's a possibility.
