2000 Ford Ranger, Transmission....Help Please!?

OK I have a 2000 Ranger XLT Automatic, 4 Speed, 3.0 V6. Just recently, like a couple weeks ago, i noticed that there was somthing wrong with the my Ranger shifting. Like say when I needed to get around somebody on the freeway, I would floor it and it would down shift easy, but when it needed to shift up, it feels like the clutch is getting stuck and keeping it in neutral or it just doesnt want to shift up at all. So I would have to get off the throttle a couple of times to get into the right gear. When I got home I put it through all the gears then in park. I checked the tranny fluid and it still looks like new and there is plenty of it. So I'm hoping that it may just be something simple like a sensor is messed up or I need to change the transmission filter. But I dont know for sure, so if anybody shed some more light on my my problem I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank You.

P.S. And Also the 0/D symbol is now starting to flash, which I know now something is wrong with the Tranny.

I would start with the least expensive and go for a fluid/filter change-then start looking for the more serious causes.

I have the same setup and the same issue. My truck is a 2000 but I have the drivetrain from a 2005 and my trans is doing the same thing only my O/D light is not flashing. My step-dad is a senior master tech with Ford says it's normal. He is going to have the transmission "expert" take a look at it tomorrow. I will repost what comes of it.

Update.....We are replacing the vavlebody in the transmission tomorrow. Lets see if that does the trick. I will keep you updated on the progress.
