confused 2000 Ranger 3.0L SuperCharger question.

I just got a 2000 Supercab with the 3.0L 74,000 old man/highway miles and im thinking about putting the whipple supercharger on it. Now what do I need to know (other than synthetics) about doing this so I dont destroy my engien? Cracked cylinders worn out journals, rings, pistons, and bearings aren`t a good thing to do, and I do want to sell the truck someday.
