Re: 2001 Ford Ranger misses and poor fuel mileage

P0135 and P0141 are O2 sensor heater circuits. P0301 Is Cyl. #1 misfire, P0403 is secondary air injection malfunction, P1432 canister purge solenoid, P1537 is IMRC stuck open. Some of these are caused by others. Clear the codes and the run the truck and retest to see what may be the main problems. The O2 sensors and some of the others could be caused by a poor ground. Check all the grounds on the engine to make sure they're all connected and clean.

Check fuse #41 under the hood. While you're there, check them all for power on both sides.

Re: 2001 Ford Ranger misses and poor fuel mileage

Fuse #41 is for the heated oxygen sensors. Have you tried a new fuse? If it still blows, unplug all the O2 sensors and see if it blows. If it doesn't, plug one in at a time until it does and you'll know which one to replace. If it blows with them all unplugged, there's a short to ground in the circuit. Check the harness from the sensors toward the fuse box.

Fuse didn't blow this time. Still misses some and surges when at idle. Codes are....P1504... P1537... P0135....... If it doesn't blow fuse, plug one in at a time until it does and you'll know which one to replace.....right?
