Re: 2003 Ranger Drivetrain Clunk?
If what you said is correct, the shop foreman is either a liar or an idiot and should not be allowed within 10 miles of a Ranger. 4x4 Rangers have had torsion bar FRONT suspensions since 1998, but NO Ranger ever had them in the rear. Ford has a Technical Service Bulletin (aka TSB) about the driveshaft, they should put in the factory aluminum replacement, insist on it. I had to have that done on both my Rangers, a 99 and later my 02. Should still be covered by warranty. My dealer never gave me a hard time, their response was more like "No prob, can you bring it in Tuesday?"
If you want to screw with the shop foreman, ask him to change the Flux Capacitor Fluid while they have it. Hell, he might just do it.
