408 Stroker/In a Ranger!!

Hey everyone, I have out grown the 4.0 in my Ranger. It has a 282 duration custom ground cam 10:1 compression-- and she runs good. It's now time for more CID coming from a 408 stroker! Question,, I am considering having Fordstrokers build the lower end for me due mostly to time restrictions at my job. It is owned by a guy named Jim. Has anyone heard of him and the work he does? his website sounds good but I am hoping that someone here knows a little bit more.

FordStrokers.com 331-347-393-408-418-427 stroker kits and ford parts.

Thanks

Keep in mind a 4.0L engine is ONLY two pop bottles! - I'd outgrow it too. That's why I own a Dodge with a 360engine. I'm not familiar with the link you posted, but to me a stroker 408 would be something I'd get put in my Dodge if I had the coin to do it properly. If it is a reputable place they should be able to give some references for work they've done. They have a decent web site at least!

Re: 408 Stroker/In a Ranger!!

Thanks for the reply. I've had a couple of pretty good shoot outs with the 360's and although they pulled me it wasn't by very much which causes them to ask me what's under the hood. The 4.0 is pushing 295 hp with 310 pound feet of torque. It runs really good but a 351 stroker would put it over the top.
