Alright so my 89 Ford Ranger 4x4 shifter is quite a bit wobbly. Like to the point to where it moves over a full inch from the gears. So i have to literally keep it towards the passenger side to catch the gears.
Now i was told it might be the shifter bushing..but when i called ford he asked me in parts if it was a toyota or mistubishi transmission. Uh what? Aren't ford trucks supposed to have ford transmissions? O.o
Alright well i don't know how to figure out what transmission it has due to the fact that the truck has no information to whether its a xlt, gt or what. But this is what i do know. It's a 1989 Ford Ranger 4x4. I can post a picture and maybe someone can help me out with this. I'm still purplexed as to why ford would put a toyota or mitsu transmission in their vehicles thought. -_- Oh and no it didn't have more data about it on the door panel sticker. First time i have had to do work with it.
P.S. In the event i can't get help with this i will take the truck to ford and let them deal with it, but i'd rather not because i know how the local ford place is and their going to charge a arm and leg for a simple little part and a few minutes labor. So i am looking at $200 right off the bat with them.
