I have a 93 Ranger with the 2.3L in it. I replaced a head gasket a while back and put it all back together as should. Problem is the truck has a miss. It idles a little rough. And it gets worse the more you drive it. It starts and runs good but say it ur sititng at a light it will start to idle bad. Also here lately its been wanting to stall if i come to a stoplight when I press the clutch in. It just seems like it has no power. Now the check engine light is on. However no one around here has a tool to read OBD 1 codes and i couldnt figure out the one I had.

When I replaced the gasket I put new plugs and wires on it. After a while I switched out the coil packs from the ones on my cobra which seemed to help a little. I thought maybe I had a vacume leak but if i spray starter fluid around the idle never changes.

Also as far as not having any power I dunno, Im thinking maybe a clogged cat.

Im going to clean the MAF IAC and EGR valve soon. Also Im sure it wouldnt hurt to put a New 02 sensor in it.

Any opinions?

did you gap the plugs?
and made sure that the plug wires are on correct?

thanks and yes the plugs are gapped with the correct wires.
