Exclamation 95 Ford Ranger Clutch Problems

Hey guys, I just replaced the clutch set in my 95 ranger. It's a 2.3L4 2wd. Everything when together smoothly and bled the line. But the clutch does not seem to fully engage when the pedal is fully released. There also seems to be no grabbing in the pedal. I have no problems shifting or moving it just doesn't seem like its working right

Any advice?

Re: 95 Ford Ranger Clutch Problems

So I ended up taking a short drive around the block to find out that it releases fully but it releases when the pedal is almost fully released probably about an inch or so from the pedal being fully released

Re: 95 Ford Ranger Clutch Problems

That seems too high .Definately correct clutch assembly fitted ? Did you check the height of the cover / pressure plate ?

It almost sounds like you're hanging upon something, is that still the cable clutch or hydraulic?

Re: 95 Ford Ranger Clutch Problems

Is it possible with that clutch assembly to put the centre plate in the wrong way ? Had that in a car many years ago .

No cause the disk was stamped which side goes wear. Do you think that the throw out bearing is to far forward?
