i have a 95 ranger splash stepside v6 4.0 AT i canged the oil pump 18 mo. ago and every since it had this light ticking noise the other day it made a loud noise and the whole truck stared to raddle and is making a deep knocking noise with limeted power , so im gonna put a used motor what should i know about getting it right ? like thing i need to check for when buying a motor from a junk yard?

The only thing you can do is check the warranty on the engine. They don't always know the past use and without running it you won't know. If it's from a reputable wrecking yard, you should be alright. We've bought used engines many times and haven't had a problem. You can check here and even see the mileage on them.
