Have a 1996 V6 4.0 , what is the operating temp for this motor. Second, coolant temp gauge in the last 2 weeks or so, has started reading 1/2 to 3/4 in the band. Moving higher when going faster. But not reaching overheating level. Want to know what might be causing this, always used to run just under 1/4 in the band except during the summer and city oper.

Thermostat??
Coolant levels are fine in radiator and reservoir. Tested temp around 160 deg.
