96 ford ranger electrical issue...?

I have had my truck now for like 4 years now and yall know that annoying door ajar noise... mine will not shut off... which is causing my dome lights to stay on. Is there a way to fix this? I pulled the fuse for the dome lights but its inconvient at night and the noise stays constant. Theres no nub on the door that i have seen like most other doors ive seen...

I believe it's in the latch mechanism. Spray it heavily with some WD-40 then open and close the door a few times & see if that helps.
