Hello everyone. New guy here.
Sorry to post three problems right off the start, but this truck is driving me nuts. I have a 96 Ranger XLT extend cab. I have a whining noise in the driveline somewhere. Three years ago I had the carrier bearing replaced. Noise went away. Came back again last year so I had the bearing and UV's replaced again as well as had the driveshaft balanced. I also had the axle bearings replaced. The noise is still there. Any thoughts on this?

Next, my ABS light comes on when I hit a bump. Bad Wire or sensor?

Finally (sick of me yet?) the check engine light has been coming on. Had Autozone test it. Code read EGR excessive Flow. I replaced the valve, reset code. Once again it came on. Same problem. I am getting tired of looking at yellow lights on the dash board.

I had the same problem with the abs light when i hit bumps, it turned out to be a sensor in the rear pumpkin that controlled the spedometer or something like that, it was the only sensor back there, cheap, easy to replace, and solved the problem with the light on the dashboard.

Bob, Thanks for info. I will check into that. I put some high octance gas in yesterday and my spark knock went away and check engine light went off. Looks like I am half way there. Thanks
