99 ford ranger problems
new to the site but we have a 99 ford ranger with a few problems.
yesterday it was driving fine then we were heading home and the truck died on a hill it started to stutter and backfire then died and would not start back up. had to coast it back down the hill and park it. there is a clicking noise that you can hear inside the cab even when the key is not in the ignition. sounds like under the stearing wheel area (not completly sure yet). also under the hood in the power distrobution box the relay #5 was clicking and jumping around without the key in the ignition. manual says it was the starter relay went to the local advance auto and replaced it. still have a clicking noise inside the cab at all times till you disconnect the battery? the truck will not turn over at all on its own. you can jump the truck and it will idle as soon as you try to drive it, it will start to back fire and sputter. then last night we tried to get it home with less traffic on the road and we got it jumped then going down the road again it died completly and we could not get any power at all no lights no nothing?
any ideas or suggestions would help!
