I recently bought a used 99 Ford Ranger XLT from a dealer in Crystal Lake and have had no problems with it, just had some routine maintenance work to do... [ie: oilchange, sparkplugs, fuel filter, trans. filter, and air filter]


Recently, I found a coolant leak at the back of the engine, from above the oilpan. [in the general area] I have no clue where it's coming from... Please help!!

Does anybody have an idea of where this could be coming from??

Two conclusions I have come to are 1] blown/cracked head gasket. 2] Intake Manifold

A family friend is checking this out today.... But no one here has an idea of what it could be??

Wasn't able to have it looked at today. :( Hopefully I will tomorrow though...

ANY help/suggestions wuold be nice guys.

Which engine does it have?

a black light might help point to the spot of leakage.

It's got a 4.0 V6

might help to see if there is a photo of a bare block to see if there is a freeze plug in the location.
