I recently purchased a 2002 Ford Ranger standard cab. When starting the truck, the airbag light flashes error code 46, even when disabling the passenger airbag. The OB2 computer does not register any error codes.
Since there is no documentation on air bag codes, I am kind of lost on this one. Can you help???
That's not suprising, I had a dealership that wanted to tear down an engine to find a miss, I brought it home and found a cracked spark plug, problem solved.
I discovered the source of my air bag error code (47). It turned out to be a bad connection under the driver's seat. I could make the error code go away by moving the seat forward.
Once I discovered how to make it fail, I simply reached under the seat and pushed the connector together.
