Hi this is my first thread ever. i own a 99 ford ranger xlt stepside. last night someone apperantly threw a rock at my rear glass- shattering the driver side sliding panel. the glass repair companys say that they can not fix it, so i called tohe local ford company and the said i have to buy the whole assembly for $200. money which i dont have.
my question is does anybody know a good web site to go to for parts?
and there is a back glass on ebay for sell (not a sliding panel just a whole pane) but it belongs to a 98 ford ranger will it fit ?
i would really appreciate the help. i want to learn more about this kinda stuff.

i have one, same year, step side also with the sliding window, and had the same problem, i went to one of the local junk yards that had one still whole and as long a u are mechanically inclinded putting a windshield in is piece of cake, but if now i would check with a local auto glass replacement place they may put it in for ya!

Yes go to a boneyard. if you can not find one there then try a few of the autoglass places. Also, consider getting this replaced under insurance. Most places will do it just as a front windshield for the 50$ - 100$ deductable. Some places will do it for nada and just put a claim on your insurance. No this is not like an accident and it will not go on your record or increase your insurance.

i would opt for a junkyard too. Some time ago someone stole my drivers side mirror, just the glass and the piece that holds it. I asked ford for that and they said they didn't sell it. Junkyard saved me around 80 bucks :D
