Hi, all





I just had my brakes done, new pads and routers on the front, after the brake job the pedal was soft and I would hear a loud pop while baking hard. Anways, I took it back and they said there was air in the lines and that the rear pads needed djusted, they did that and know when stopping lightly the abs system engages, it doesnt do it at hard stops, and only dose it once and a while. Any Ideas?

what year is your truck? here is a shot in the dark i heard a while back that the early abs on rangers was kinda stupid, in that some times when you hit the brakes toooo hard the abs thought you were at a stand still. so it lock up your wheels and you needed to let up off of the brake. i havent tested this yet and i dont know if it is correct. just repeating what i have heard.

Which way does it pull when it "False Activates". Let go of the steering wheel when it does it. If it pulls right, then the left hub may be the problem.

Well, it dosent seem to pull in any direction, Im not even sure if it is the abs engaging or somethinng else. Well, today when I was slowing down I could hear poping from the rear and as I applied more brake presure the truck shutterd violently like the abs was engaging like I mentioned above, after that it stopped fine every other time. After the shutter the brakes feel a little more touchy for a bit. Some days are fine other days it dose it once or twice.

take it back to mechanic and have him ride with you then make him fix it
