I just purchased a 2009 Ranger XL 4x2 with air conditioning. I think I have a problem with the climate control, if I select the head & feet, I still get air conditioning. The book says that I should get outside air. I took it to the service department and she told me any selection to the right of the off switch I should get air conditioning. Who is right?
The first setting left of OFF and second setting right of OFF are the only two settings that don't engage the airconditioner compressor. I opened the hood and tried each setting, getting out of the truck to look and that's what my truck was doing. It seems to take
AC to clear a bit of fog off the inside of front window.
The only two settings that DON'T operate the A/C is the first setting to the left or "vent" and the second setting to the right or "floor". All other settings WILL engage the A/C! This is normal! (Or normal in the eyes of Ford engineers anyway...)
