I have a 2001 ford ranger edge and recently the speedometer stopped working so I replaced the speed sensor in the rear axle and nothing is there another sensor that controls the speedometer????

NO. Now that that's over...lol...j/k.

Anyways, that thing in the rear axle is for your anti-lock brakes...the speed sensor for the speedo is in the tranny tail-housing.

ok the dealership said that there is no replacement for that sensor in the book.

there full of it. if i recal right the spedo is eletronicaly controlled, and its more likely gona be a failure of the actual spedo gauge. i dont know for shure i think i remember an old rmemeber jonnyQ saying sumthing like that.

i work in a dealer ship, i would call another dealer or the same one. it all depends on the worker if they know anything. some are tards.

One quick thing not sure if it will work but go into the dealer shipand have them reprogram the computer when I had a accident in my 98 I got is back and the speedometer wasn't working and that is how the shop fixed it. Hope it helps
