Check Engine Light!

Have a 2002 Ranger XLT, 4.0 engine, automatic, 4X4, with 49,000 miles. Check engine light came on, OBD2 scanner showed a code P1401 which is Differential Pressure Feedback EGR Circuit High Input. Before I attempt to replace the DPFE sensor which is a little costly at $80.00, is there anything else I might try that may be a little less expensive. The check engine light came on after completing a long trip, and at times traffic was traveling between 80 and 85 mph. I'm new to the site, and any help will be appreciated.

If the light isn't on all the time and your mpg is okay, I wouldn't worry about it. If it IS on all the time, then replacing the sensor is all you can do.
Since you have less than 50,000 miles, some parts like that are covered by the emissions warranty I think. Check your warranty book or the dealer, however dealers get paid more money by you than they will by Ford (for warranty work), so their opinion is not exactly unbiased.

Well here try this first before you going to buy anything......
1- remove the EGR valve
use the coast hanger and poke in the hose where the EGR mounting to it has the hose is the Vacuum has been clog need to lear open(http://www.autozone.com/images/cds/j...3d800e2f4f.jpg)
2- The EGR only about $ 60.00 Part# F77Z-9J460-AB
