Check Engine Light

Hey Guys,
I am wondering if anyone knows an easy way to find out what the check engine light code is.
I know that on MOST cars I have had/fixed, there is an easy way to find the code by pushing a button, gas pedal or something and the light will blink the code etc........!?!
Anything like this on the Ranger?
Thanks, Dave

Re: Check Engine Light

Well depending on the year there are different ways to go about it. What year is your truck?

I think it is a '96. Not my truck. I will check for sure tonight.
Thanks, Dave

Re: Check Engine Light

The A.L.D.L. plug should be located on the left fender near the firewall.

Re: Check Engine Light

Dave acutally Autozone does it for free. Once you get the codes we can decipher them for you.
