I have 2001 Ford Ranger - 2.3 liter..... clutch line has hole in it.I got it loose from slave cylinder, but can't get it loose from top near fluid resevoir?

I can't find a pic of that vintage, how about supplying us with one, might get a little better result.

ok...got line replaced..bled the line...clutch feels right...now when attempting to start truck.....nothing? like trying to start it without clutch pedal pressed down

Are you sure you're stroking the piston in the master cylinder? I'm pretty sure there's a spring on the pedal to push it back.
