Hi.. is there a way to disable the alarm that sounds when the key is left in the ignition with the door open? It's a 2005 or 06 (not sure) ford ranger used for work. I get in an out 300 or so times a day while very near the truck and it's just a pain to continually hear. Much easier on the body to leave the door open, but exceedingly annoying to hear the alarm. Any help would be appreciated. thanks!

PS.. please don't tell me to close the door or remove the key.. thanks!

You can remove the key switch and remove the 'buzzer' from it Re-install key switch.

So the little piezo buzzer is located right on the key switch? Or is there a wire associated with the key switch? How do i access it? Any info you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Seperate the 2 plastic halves of the shroud on the steering column, turn the key to the on position, insert probe or stiff wire into the hole for the retainer,pull straight out on the key cylinder. there is a black plastic piece on the switch with a couple of copper tabs on it. Remove this whole piece and re-insert the key cylinder.
The access hole for the retainer should be somewhat facing towards the seat area.
