thats what i have heard, and ive heard that the 87-88 2.0 are toyota engines...... i hope not. i have an 86 ranger 2.0, i want to put a two barrel on it, will carb and manifold fit from mustang 2.3 or 87-88 ranger 2.0 w/ 2bbl. help me please. and does the early mustang 2.3 even have a 2barrel?

And no you cant put a mustang carb on that manifold, you cant even put on an Edle Brock or a Holy, unless you can find an adapter. I know this because Ive tryed to do the same thing with my 2.0L.

he just wants information man give it to him, vs. loosing a memeber to the comunity its just not wort it besides there was a time when you didnt know that the 2.0l disel mazda engine was an option in sum of the tempos ford made, mostly 1st generation though. it was also avaible in the excort/lynux with this in mind there is a small chance this engine could still be used by ford in sum applications.

ill tell you what pillen what ever you do do not get rid of that engine,trans,etc etc. if it is the 2.0 diseil, big money teams can get over 500hp from it. it is also an exclent ebay sell, i know a guy right now that will pay $400 plus just for that head even if it needs rebuilding because the engine is so rare, parts are almost impossible to find. try calling sum parts stores to order just the head, youl come up empty handed...

really, thanks for the info, but a 2.0 and 2.3 are not related at all? i know they take the same exhaust manifold valve covers, common stuff. or was that just fords way of saving money? oh and is there any way of fitting the whole intake manifold with carb? thanks
