Arrow Drag Racing Rangers

I need some info/help. I am new to the pickup truck world but no stranger to performance. I have modified and dragged RX7's for the past 3 years and want to try something new. Everytime I go to the tracks around here in maryland its either rice cars and domestics. The few trucks are slow as you no what. So I figured why not buid a drag truck. So I made a few phone calls and bought a 99 ranger xlt supercab v-6 4.0l ($4200) Its it great shape with 100000 miles. Well lets get this going I want to drop a 5.0 engine in there, drop it, or if anyone knows can a roatery engine go in. I have a crap load of universal performance parts so any help would be great. Thanks

I can't help but ask about your Ranger why send a picture of your truck instead of your RX. I'm interested about your truck reply more ideas that you want to do with it.

HELL MAN go with the V/8, use a full manual C4 tran's w/brake, some stiff rear gear's W/spool and go racing.

When in doubt :DON'T

I won't use a C-4 go with a C-6 manual they live longer. 4:10.1 or 3:73.1 or welded rear it depends on the track. light weight carbon body parts.

You are definately going to have to go with a tranny swap since the ranger v6 is not going to handle the v8. If you go with a c6 you are going to have to do some major hammering to get it to fit the hump. Also, you will have some issues with clearance. I know of 2 people that stuffed one in their rangers. They raised their trucks and had nothing to worry about with the clearance.

Lowering your truck is easy there are a few ways to approach it and depends on HOW LOW you want to go with it.

Not sure about the rotary, but it is not impossible. You would more than likely have to fabricate some engine mounts, new wiring and replace the ecm. That is just for starters, not including the tranny..etc. But for overall power i would go with the v8 in your Ranger.

But it would be worth it, right? First of all is this truck for racing on paved or dirt roads? If its for dirt then keep the C-6, if its not then with the C-4 because they have a lower gear ratio.
