EGR Valve, air intake manifold

I keep hearing a little whistling sound, my code reader says that the EGR valve has excessive flow instead of restricted flow, what is the problem?

Replace the DPFE sensor for excessive flow.

What makes you say that? Does the engine rattle on start-up or high RPM?
What year and engine?

Re: EGR Valve, air intake manifold

It has a rattle sound all the time. It's a 97 Ranger with the 4.0 and 147000 miles.
