I own a 2004 Ford Ranger with a 3.0 all stock w/40k miles. I am considering looking for a 2004 4.0 complete engine and rebuilding it and installing it. Question is is this feisable proiject? Will the 4.0 dropin without major modifacations? I plan on taking a year to work on this so I am in no hurry. Have any of you done this or know where I can get all the info I would need to make it work. Thanks,(This is my first post here)

I'd do a search on here, as there are a lot of old threads regarding engine swaps. Besides the engine you'll also have to steak the computer, wire harness and possibly the transmission if you can find a combo deal - which would be the best way to go. Ebay is also a good tool to shop around.
