Ford PATS transponder key bypass

I'm sure this was beat to death somewhere else, but does anybody have a proven way to bypass the pats transponder key system in a 1999 ranger?
Has something along the lines of strapping a key to the antenna been done?
any way to have a foolproof way that eliminated the entire thing?

I know people get in a bunch over disabling an anti theft system, but I don't care and just want to be able to start my damn truck in the bush!

Re: Ford PATS transponder key bypass

No way I've ever seen for sure. Heard of people using older non pats PCM. I did tie a chip out of a key to my receiver in my sable for the remote start but it was a pain to make work. If it works why bypass it?

Re: Ford PATS transponder key bypass

Because I have a worn out ignition and broken door lock and don't want to pay to have all the programming done. Also the factor of busting the key while hunting/ working and being stranded...

Re: Ford PATS transponder key bypass

The key cylinder has nothing to do with the. Pats. You could replace the lock cylinder and keep the same key. No programming needed

Re: Ford PATS transponder key bypass

A dealer or good locksmith can get you a new lock cylinder and code it to your key. Will not need programmed.
