frront hub removal, puller needed?

My '01 ranger 4x4 with 236,000 miles needs a front hub/bearing unit replaced. The manual mentions a special puller, how hard is it to remove this hub without a puller? Thanks a bunch in advance, lurking to find someone I can help in return.

Re: frront hub removal, puller needed?

not vacuum, thanks for the reply but I just finished eplaceing the hub. Took only 50 minutes and no puller was needed. Just loosened the 3 bolts holding the hub to the knuckle but made sure all of the knuckle threads were filled with bolt threads and then LIGHTLY tapped the bolts, came off very easily and the process was further sped up by reuseing the original ABS tone encoder. Thanks again. TG
