Fuel Pump Question - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hope someone can answer this, it seems so simple but I have searched this Forum and a couple others and I cannot find the answer. The question is: Does my 1998 Ranger Supercab, 3.0 have one Fuel Pump or 2? There is something just in front of my Spare Tire with a fuel line and wires going to it. I know I have an In-Tank Fuel Pump (I changed it), but someone told me I may have an external Fuel Pump also.

Figured it out myself, with some help on another Forum and my Factory Shop Manuals. 98 3.0 Ranger has 1 fuel pump, in the tank. The thing near the spare tire is an Evaporative Cannister. It collects fumes from the gas tank and sends them to th engine to be burned at the proper time, according to pressure, etc. No wonder the car companies are in trouble having to put worthless stuff like tid circuit on to appease the Greenies and Pols.
