New to this site. howdy, and hope you can help!
anyway, i've got a 2001 ranger 4x4 with the 4.0 v6.
when it hits close to 3000rpm on the tach the engine acts like it has a rev limiter on it. someone suggested the computer is going bad.(i've removed the neg cable and let it sit for 30min to try to reset it) but have the same results.
any ideas?

btw: the truck is stock, no mods.
your help is greatly appreciated.

i am only taking a shot in the dark. first is the check engine light on? if so go to autozone and get the codes and post them. if not check it any way there maybe a code stored.

second if it is a parts related item i would try to see if the cam position sensor was good or the vss sensor was still good.
