I need to replace the driver side mirror (manual type) on my 2001 2.3L truck. I'm looking for general tips or suggestions on where to begin.

I just took one out at the salvage year.

It was a 1996, but pretty sure it should be real close.

2 screws need to be removed. The one in the armrest and then there is another on the bottom of the door toward the outer side.

Then remove the cover for the manual window crank (assuming you have manual window) You will need a T20 torx screw driver to remove the screw holding the handle in place. Remove the handle.

The clips holding the panel in place are L shaped and all you have to do is heave the panel up. The inside door handle may be a bt of a problem but if you wiggle and pull up on the whole panel it will eventually come off...

There are 3 bolts that hold the mirror and are behind some plastic seems that you should carefully peel back. Be careful or you may end up losing a bolt on the inside of the door.....
