How much can a Ranger 4cyl standard 3 L tow? - Ford Forums

Simple question I suppose, but I know that the towing ability depends on the transmition and axel? Right?
So does any one think I can tow a small car on a 4 wheel trailer, totaling 2400 lbs with A Ranger XLT 5 speed manual trans, 4 cycl? No tow package that Im aware of.
Ill be towing across West Texas, somewhat mountainous but not to bad.

if you are EASY on the clutch when you start to move you wont hurt it. but you are limited to what you are rated to brake at. if your trailer has some sort of braking assist you should be able to handle it. might feel like the little engine that could in the hills.
