Not really sure what your question is. 4 on intake , 4 on exhaust Just because there is eight doesn't mean bad gas milage. Ranger?? I'm guessing, year?? wouldn't know where to guess, eh why not 1992?? What kind of mileage are you getting? Year and engine? we may then be able to advise further.

its a 1996 and it cost me 335 dollars to fill it up, and thats 2 times a week, and im 17 and i use it to get from school to work everyday

Take it to Autozone and they'll pull codes for free. See if they come up with anything. If they don't get any codes, you could clean the MAF with MAF cleaner and see if that helps. They do get coated and give false readings to the PCM.
