I need some help, LOL... My bf has a 93 ranger with a 2.3 liter engine, he just put in a new transmission, and then the timing belt broke. He put a new one on, and had it running smoothly, but it stopped. Whats the correct way to time this truck?, and does anyone know how to set the timing on the distributive pulley? or are there downloads for diagrams available anywhere for free? He needs to get this truck running so I can drive the F250.. hehe.. it's a big boy and I like it ! .. Thanks !

Sounds like he had it right. Possibly too much or too little tension. Also, make sure he had the right belt. On the 2.3 they had two types, one where the splines are more rounded and one where the splines are more squared.

Okay I will, and thanks. It could be the belt, he was saying it was fitting tight but it didn't want to sit in the sprocket things to well. I know he called to double check with the auto store if they had given him the right belt. Do you know if the distributable pulley has to be on a certain setting? We couldn't find a mark to line it up with anything. And thanks again!
