i have a 2002 ford ranger its 4wheeldrive. when i start to get going it start to make a highpitched whistle. some one told me that it was the iac. could this be right. if anyone could help that would be great.

Check the hose clamps on the intake hose and make sure it's seated all the way. Could also be the airbox lid, it can be a mofo to get on right. I broke a clip on mine once, had to put a bolt and nut on one corner to seal it. Ford must have predicted that would happen because they put handy-dandy bolt holes on the corners of the airbox.

Ok i checked all of that and it still does this any other ideas??

is mit a five speeed? some clutches will whistle as they start to go out. easy way to test it is if u go up a hill does it still pull strong or does it feel like its weak? also it weill overheat more often
