ignition switch stuck in Lock - Ford Forums

Came out from grocery store yesterday, put key in ignition of '90 Rander, key wouldn't turn, tried turning steering wheel right/left, now it's locked up too!!! Only a matter of time before store owners have it towed or I have to have it towed myself, so if anyone can offer any suggestions as to how to get it "unstuck", I'd be most grateful. Even if I have to have something replaced, I'd love to be able to drive it to repair shop rather than paying towing fee, but at this point, I'm at a total loss. Thanks in advance for any advice.

try some graphite powder, which should help to get you out of the situation but you may have to replace the key barrel
