Sometimes I'll start five or six times then nuthin', just clicks.
The Boss'll short across the terminals on my starter/solinoid
and maybe I'll start for a few times, then back to clicking.
I have new bat cable ends and a good bat with tight conections.
Just had my solinoid on the starter changed but I only started
three times, then back to clicking.
Any pointers would be greatly apreciated.

Could be a bad bit on starter motor , might be worth while getting it bench tested or stripped down / replaced .

Starter runs on bench test.

O.K., I replaced the solinoid, the relay on the inner fender, the bat is up, and the strarter runs on bench test.
Still have issue. Today is wiring check over. I'm bettin' that's where it is now.
Gotta bad connection somewhere.

Prob solved!
Turns out that a couple of the brushes were worn in the starter.
Replaced them and no more issues.
I really hate electrical stuff.
