Jolting from the stop

I just bought my 2002 ford ranger xlt 4x4 yesterday. And I notices that from a complete stop, my truck jolts 1-3 times when I start accelerating. I'm stumped on what it could be. The dealer guy said that since it's a 4x4 the axel shifts when it stops, and just goes back in place. But to me it seems like that isn't the deal. Any help? Please!

See if any codes are present. The dealer should check for you or Autozone will check for free.
