just purchased 1994 ford ranger xlt 3.0 5 speed transmission......leaking don't know what type fluid to use can anyone help thanks

Um, what is leaking? transmission fluid? I know in the older 5sp's (like my 87) you could use about any kind of gear oil, but I'm not sure bout the new ones.

If your talking about your transmission, it uses ATF. Don't use the type F it's to heavy except for summer use.

You know out of expirence I think those 3L 5spd. are worthless, maybe good for Tauruses but in trucks forget it.

Whats kind of problems have you had
with the 3L 5spds?

I was just looking at a 94 with that combo
in it today (actually was just going to start
researching for that exact thing)

Fuel Air mix, pistons fell out of alignment, 4 fuel pumps with in 2 years, overheated, 2 alternators, couldn'y shift into 4th gear, and that is just about it.
