I am looking for information on where the DTC terminal is located on a 1993 Ranger. I thought they were usually under the steering column, but I can't locate it.
I have an issue where the truck will idle very rough at startup after it has been driven a short distance. When the truck is started cold, everything is fine. If I drive it for 5-10 miles and turn it off and let it sit for a few minutes, it will start but idles very roughly and will eventually die (just like it is running very rich). I can keep my foot on the gas pedal and it will eventually come out of it after about 30-60 seconds. I was hoping to find an error code to start me in the right direction of getting it fixed.
Also, can you tell me how to jumper the DTC terminal to activate the Check Engine Light?
I'm new to the Ford family, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
well, i have a 88 ford ranger, and the dtc is located on the passenger side fender wall, inbetween the starter sylenoid, and the firewall, your best bet on trying to figure out how to jump it, go to your local autozone, and get ya a book, it tells u how to do so, along with the codes
