I have a 1999 Ford Ranger 4 Cylinder. I have a misfire in the #2 cylinder. Spark plugs good, cables good, coil pack good, injector good, good compression, no leak down in the cylinder. Slight engine noise though when the engine starts to misfire. Any Ideas?
Have you been going through any fluids? More so coolant or engine oil?
Take that particular spark plug out and swap it with another. Just to rule out a bad O ring on a fuel injector, swap it with another cylinder as well. If the misfire follows that injector you will have found the problem. Make sure that the plugs are gapped correctly. I know a lot of folks who buy them at the auto parts store and install them right out of the box and they have misfire and drive-ability problems.
