Hi all

I have a 2003 ranger edge v6 with 138,000 miles, yesterday it backfired on the way to get some gas and stopped. waited 20 minutes and got it started. Got it back home, every time you were in gear and didnt hit the gas, it wanted to take off and everytime you pushed the gas it didnt want to do much. I was reading alot about the idle air control and the throttle position sensors acting up at times, do you think it could be one of them or another problem?

Since it backfired, it may have blown a vacuum line off. Look around to see if the hoses are all intact. Autozone will check to see if you have any codes for free. Te light doesn't have to be on for a code to be present.
