No brake lights, abs flashing, no dash lights!!!!! HELP, Please...

Hello, I have a 1994 ford ranger 4X4 3leter. I got stuck in the snow last night and had to be pulled out. Everything was working great for about 10 min. Then my dash lights went out, abs light started flashing, and I noticed my brake lights where no longer working. Can someone please help me? I am going to start by checking the fuse box under the dash in the morning, but where do I go from there? What would cause this to happen?

Thank you very very much for any help!!!!

Start by checking the tail/brake light bulbs. If they are not working, the dash lights go out. I don't know about the ABS light flashing, but the dash 'lights-out' may just be a warning that you have no reds at the rear.

A pretty cheap fix if you didn't do some wiring damage during the pull.

Re: No brake lights, abs flashing, no dash lights!!!!! HELP, Please...

ive got a 94 ranger but its a 2wd as well with the same problem. i went to auto value and told them about the abs and forgot to tell the about the instrument panel but he said that it could be a ball bearing or a wheel bearing causing the abs light to flash. and for the brake lights. ive encountered the problem before. it may be a switch that is on the brake pedal shaft. its up high on the brake shaft. but its like an 8 dollar part, and from auto zone it comes with a lifetime warrenty. the brake light should be an easy fix. just pull the pin. take the old one off put the new one on and put the pin back in but i dont know if that is in fact the problem. mine just happened today and i havent figured it out.

well now that i noticed that you posted that 2 years ago.... could you tell me how to fix it?

Could be your fuses. I shorted out my fuses when I backed my boat trailer in the water with the lights on two years ago. I learned real quick not to do this anymore. I had no dash lights and tail lights when the trailer came out of the water. It was the fuses.
Just recently, I noticed the ABS light on the dash was on and the hazard flashers didn't work. Yup, it was a fuse problem again.

Ed, the last post was from 2011, prior to that, 2008. If they haven't figured it out by now, they're hopeless.
